The Link Between Oral Health and Kidney Transplants
Profits from this event will benefit the National Kidney Foundation, an organization dedicated to raising awareness about kidney disease, as well as promoting research and funds for treatment and prevention.
We always like to remind our patients who have kidney transplants that oral health is crucial to keeping your transplant healthy, and that it’s important to have healthy teeth before your procedure in order to ensure a smooth transplant process. According to the University of Washington Medical Center, brushing twice a day, flossing daily, and getting 6-month dental checkups are all important factors for keeping kidney transplants healthy. However, it is important to avoid scheduling a checkup for 6-months after your transplant procedure. Learn more.
